A Simple Mixed-Media Page You Can Make in 20 Minutes
27 April 2026 · 3 min read
Not every creative page needs to look like a finished artwork. This one is built entirely from scraps — the kind of thing you can make with what's already sitting in a drawer.
What you'll need:
- A blank journal page
- Any paper scraps — old receipts, ticket stubs, magazine cutouts, washi tape
- A glue stick
- A pen for a few handwritten lines
How to build it:
- Lay your scraps loosely on the page before gluing anything down — move pieces around until the arrangement feels right.
- Glue the larger pieces first, then layer smaller ones on top.
- Leave a little empty space somewhere on the page — it gives the eye somewhere to rest, and somewhere for your handwriting to go.
- Add a short line of text, even just a date or a single word describing your week.
- Let it dry flat for a few minutes before closing the journal.
That's genuinely it. The point isn't a perfect layout — it's proof that a page came from an actual moment in your week, glue smudges and all.
