Dear you,
Here'sourstory.
The Yellow Notes began on 13 December 2025, around a table filled with journals, colourful paper, dreams, and conversations.
Our first gathering was Picnic Pages, a journaling and vision board experience created for people who wanted to pause, reflect, and imagine what they wished to bring into their lives.
It brought together people who already loved journaling, people who wanted to explore it for the first time, people carrying dreams they had not yet spoken about, and people simply looking for a warm and creative space to spend an afternoon.
Some people wrote quietly.
Some created on their own while sitting among others.
Some shared stories and started conversations.
Some simply enjoyed being present without feeling the need to speak.
That became one of the most meaningful parts of Picnic Pages.
We realised that community does not always have to mean constant conversation, group activities, or being socially involved. Sometimes, community can simply mean having a safe and welcoming place where you are surrounded by people, while still being free to remain in your own little world.
At The Yellow Notes, you are never expected to perform, participate in every conversation, or be anything other than yourself.
You can sit alone while being part of the group.
You can quietly journal, create, observe, or reflect.
You can talk, connect, laugh, and share when it feels right.
There is space for both.
Somewhere between the pages, colours, conversations, and quiet moments, we realised that we were building something more than an event.
We were building a community where people could simply be.
The Yellow Notes grew from the belief that creativity becomes more meaningful when there is freedom within it. We wanted to create spaces where people could explore journaling and art without worrying about being perfect, experienced, expressive, or traditionally creative.
A space where beginners could start their first page.
A space where experienced journalers could explore something new.
A space where people could connect with others without feeling pressured to socialise.
And most importantly, a space where people could slow down, spend time with themselves, and understand themselves a little better.
Since that first Picnic Pages gathering, we have continued to grow one experience at a time.
Through community meetups, workshops, creative activities, pop-up experiences, journals, and thoughtfully designed kits, we invite people to pause, create, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
We are still at the beginning of our story.
But we know what we want The Yellow Notes to remain, no matter how much it grows: a warm, community-driven space where people can arrive exactly as they are, choose how they wish to participate, and find a little more of their yellow.
Chai's Story
Long before The Yellow Notes became a brand, it existed quietly in the notebooks of our founder, Chaithanya, or Chai.
When Chai was a child, a pen and a notebook were her closest companions. Whenever she felt happy, confused, lonely, excited, or simply had too many thoughts in her mind, she would write.
Those notebooks became her safe space.
They held her dreams, stories, worries, questions, and the versions of herself that she did not always know how to express out loud.
Looking back, those pages were her yellow. They gave her comfort, peace, and a place where she could always be herself.
As she grew older, her creative world grew with her. Her notebooks slowly filled with sketches, paintings, paper crafts, colours, and ideas. Eventually, they led her to journaling, not only as a hobby, but as a way of understanding herself.
There were moments when she felt lost and questioned who she was, where she was going, and what might come next.
Each time, she found herself returning to her notebooks, paints, and the simple act of creating.
They became the bridge that helped her find her way back to herself.
Chai realised that what helped her was not only journaling or art. It was having a space where she could slow down, listen to herself, and simply be.
She also understood that not everyone reconnects with themselves in the same way.
Some people find themselves through writing.
Some through colours and creativity.
Some through conversations.
Some through sitting quietly in a room where they feel comfortable enough to be alone.
She wanted to create a space that allowed all of these possibilities.
A place where people could feel part of a community without being pressured to constantly interact.
A place where they could talk when they wanted to, stay quiet when they needed to, and choose what felt right for them.
That personal idea first came to life through Picnic Pages and gradually grew into The Yellow Notes: a creative and community-led brand built to help people pause, create, reflect, connect, and get to know themselves a little better.
To be the yellow in people's lives by creating warm and meaningful spaces where they can pause, create, reflect, and reconnect with themselves, one page, one story, and one experience at a time.
We aim to give people the freedom to participate in their own way, whether that means sharing with others, creating quietly, or simply sitting with themselves.
To create a world where people make time to know themselves a little better, express themselves freely, and find joy in the small moments that colour everyday life.
We envision communities where people feel welcome without feeling pressured, connected without losing their individuality, and comfortable enough to simply be themselves.
What Makes Our Community Different
At The Yellow Notes, there is no single way to participate.
Our spaces are designed for people who enjoy conversations as well as people who prefer quiet moments.
You may sit alone while being part of the group.
You may journal without sharing what you have written.
You may create quietly, observe, listen, speak, laugh, or connect with someone new.
Nothing is forced.
There is no pressure to introduce yourself, speak in front of everyone, share personal stories, or join every activity.
You decide how much you want to participate.
Our role is to create the space, offer gentle guidance, and allow you to experience it in the way that feels most natural to you.
Because sometimes, being closer to yourself does not require leaving the room.
It simply requires being given the freedom to exist within it as you are.

We respect that everyone experiences community differently — free to speak, share, create quietly, or simply sit with yourself.
Where we are today
We'd rather show you the truth of where we are than a bigger story than the one we're actually living.
Our First Picnic Pages
On 13 December 2025, we hosted our first community gathering with journaling and vision board activities. It brought together people who loved journaling, creativity, dreams, and meaningful experiences — and showed us the importance of creating a space where people could enjoy being part of a group without losing the comfort of being themselves. That gathering became the beginning of The Yellow Notes.
Building a Community
Picnic Pages became our signature community experience, bringing people together every two months to journal, create, reflect, and explore new themes. Each gathering is designed to be gentle and flexible — people may connect, or spend the session quietly creating on their own. Both are equally welcome.
Workshops and New Spaces
We expanded into vendor-market experiences, creative workshops, corporate sessions, and The Yellow Nook, our travelling pop-up space. Each format carries the same idea: creativity without pressure, connection without expectation.
Becoming Official
The Yellow Notes became a registered sole proprietorship with MSME/Udyam registration, and a trademark application was filed for the brand.
What Comes Next
We're developing journals, stationery, creative kits, guided experiences, and new community formats, while working toward bringing The Yellow Notes to more people and more cities.
We hope The Yellow Notes will become a well-known and well-loved creative community brand, present in more cities and connected with people through gatherings, workshops, journals, and creative products.
We dream of building spaces where people can arrive exactly as they are — where someone can sit quietly with a journal while others talk around them and still feel like they belong. Spaces where people can choose connection when they want it, and solitude when they need it.
But even as we grow, we want to hold on to how everything began: a few people gathered around a table, sharing pages, dreams, creativity, conversations, and comfortable silences.
Come as you are. Create in your own way. Let us be your yellow. 🌼
